Abstract

This study was undertaken to know the degree of antero-posterior deviation of mandible, when the initial teeth contact on the physiologic rest position and centric occlusion, and left-right deviation of mandibular deviated patients, 24 subjects
with
class III molar relationship and anterior cross bite and functional mandibular deviation.
@ES The following results are obtained.
@EN 1. The mean of amount of mandibular deviation was 2.72mm, and the mean of amount of overjet change was 1.16mm.
2. The mean the movement angle of midpoint of lower central incisor incisal part from centric occlusion to physiologic rest position was 25.94¡Æ
3. Mandibular antero-posterior deviation amount according to mandibular left-right deviation was increased in all subjects on initial tooth contact from physiologic rest position and centric occlusion.
4. The correlation coefficient between overjet changes and mandibular deviation was 0.44, between overjet change and mandibular movement angle was 0.33, therefore the correlationship between the amount of mandibular deviation and the amount of
overjet
change amount was the highest.
